word art // living creatively + ralph waldo emerson

Hey all! So I am *really* excited about this piece because it was a bit of a mixed-media adventure for me. I am celebrating *FINALLY* being able to explore all of my Adobe apps [between slow internet and hesitating --why? idk??-- on getting my Adobe subscription it's been a time lemme tell you].

I was inspired today by this quote I found online-- recently, I've been doing a lot of reading that's related to "working creatively", a concept that was recently brought to my attention by one of my former co-workers who is part of an awesome community with the Bucketlist Bombshells. This team of two women creates courses and resources for millennial women who are trying to "quit their 9 to 5 and work online with the freedom to travel the world". Although I'm not done with school yet, learning all of these skills and the idea of potentially being my own boss/becoming a freelancer is something that is *SUPER* intriguing. Until then, I'm just trying to gain skills, get in the practice, and harvest my experiences to prepare me for what I'd like to do in the future, and a lot of that is reliant on my determination, the work I put in, and my attitude. Hence, this quote I decided to transcribe. [:

// ABOUT THIS PIECE //

I created the text in Illustrator, free-handing the cursive and using a font for the bolded words/smaller text. All of that was printed, cut out, and glued down onto some sturdy paper [agh the word for it is escaping me it's gonna bug me] CARDSTOCK that's the word-- and then I added some strips of washi tape [it is Wednesday, after all (;] and topped it off with some black pen!
